Will it ring if my phone is on silent?

Yes. Lanternly uses Apple's own alarm system on iOS 26, so it rings through silent mode and Focus, even with the app closed.

What if I get a question wrong?

You get another one. It only stops once you've answered three right.

What happens to my notes?

They stay on your phone. To write questions, the text of a note is sent to an EU-hosted AI and the questions come back. It's never used for training. Photos, PDFs and videos are read on your phone and never uploaded.

Do I need an account?

No. No sign-up, no email, no password. Your alarms, notes and streak live on your phone.

Is there a free version?

Lanternly is subscription-only, but the yearly plan starts with a 3-day free trial so you can try a few mornings first.

What if I genuinely need to turn it off?

There's an emergency hold: press and hold for ten seconds and the morning ends. It won't count towards your streak, but you're never trapped.

How do I cancel?

In your iPhone's Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Lanternly. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
